LOCATION
Thanda Island is located between the mainland of Tanzania and Mafia Island. It is 16 nautical miles or 30 kilometres west of Mafia Island and 70 nautical miles or 130 kms east of the mainland of Tanzania, opposite the Selous National Park and Rufiji River Delta.

WHEN TO GO
Thanda Island offers warm, tropical weather all year round. Rain showers are mostly short, followed by sunshine. June right through to March the weather is beautiful with short rains and either a south-easterly Kusi or a north-eastly Kaskazi trade wind. April and May brings an increase in rainfall and marks the “long rainy season”. However, there are many sunny days between the rains. October to March brings the majestic whale shark to the area.

ACCOMMODATION
The Villa accommodates ten adults in five suites, with two traditional Tanzanian Bandas (double-story beach chalets) for up to eight guests as additional accommodation. The superyacht - Sea Leopard - can sleep a further 8 guests.

CHILDREN
No age limit and activities and facilities to suit all ages.

GETTING THERE
Fly directly to Dar es Salaam international airport. A helicopter transfer can take you directly to the Island which takes 25 minutes. Or guests can take a 30-minute fixed-wing transfer in an 8 or 12 seater plane to Kilindoni and then a short boat ride of approximately 40 minutes to the island.
